A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas
Americans might be in a gloom-and-doom mood about the economy, but Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas comes just in time to remind us of the value of loving family and friends. The yearly production at the Alley Theatre is an especially charming rendition of this lovely old Victorian tale. Children sit wide-eyed as three scary ghosts visit old Ebenezer, who travels through time in his stocking cap and nightshirt. Over the course of the show he visits his past, which was full of happy friends, his lonely present, which is full of money but little else, and his dark future, should he keep up his stingy ways. Grownups know the outcome, but it's still a lovely holiday tradition. See A Christmas Carol at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 2:30 and 7 p.m. Sundays. Through December 27. 615 Texas. For information, call 713-220-5700 or visit www.alleytheatre.org. $38 to $100.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 19. Continues through Dec. 27, 2010
