A Measure of Meaning Poetry Reading

A handful of local poets will read their poetry today for A Measure of Meaning Poetry Reading at Heights Ashbury Coffeehouse. Local poet R.T. Castleberry says he and his group have been getting together to workshop their poems for about a year, and finally they’ve gotten brave enough to go public. “We all know each other from the Houston poetry scene,” says Castleberry, adding that they “all have a different style, and a different take.” Add in some healthy sandwiches from Heights Ashbury and some art on the walls, and you’ve got one cultured way to beat back the heat. 3:30 p.m. Sunday. 242 West 19th Street.
