Todays your last chance to see A Wedding at Moores Opera House. Based on the Robert Altman film of the same name, William Bolcoms A Wedding is making its Houston premiere. Its a free-for-all romp, with the pastor flubbing his lines and wedding guests getting drunk, singing and fighting with a security guard whos itching to bust a move on someone, anyone. (Sir, I dont want to have to neutralize you.) One guest drops dead during all this fun, but no one seems to notice and everyone keeps chatting with her just the same.
Heres something you might want to ask yourself while youre watching A Wedding: Why are there surtitles for a show thats sung in English? 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and today; 2 p.m. Sunday. Moores Opera House, University of Houston, 4800 Calhoun. For tickets and information, call 713-743-3313 or visit www.music.uh.edu/mooresopera. $10 to $15.
