Allen Salkin, author of From Scratch: Inside the Tumultuous Billion-Dollar World of the Food Network, knows, and he’s telling at the 41st Annual Jewish Book and Arts Festival. With a background as an investigative journalist, Salkin pulls back the curtain on the Food Network, from its earliest days as an upstart to its recent difficulties with its big-name chefs, including Emeril Lagasse and Paula Deen.
