Amazing Astronomers of Ancient Rome

Sure, we’ve made giant strides in our study of the galaxy, with our megacomputers and fancy telescopes. But 2,000 years ago in ancient Rome, with very few tools, astronomers were already deciphering the wonders of the sky. The new film at the Planetarium, The Amazing Astronomers of Ancient Rome, transports viewers back to the time of the Pantheon and the Library of Alexandria. Focusing on the seven early scientists credited with the astronomical theories and practices we use today, Amazing Astronomers gives us a new reason to look up. Various screening times.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Feb. 8. Continues through Feb. 28, 2009
