Have you ever wondered what a modern Santa Claus must use in his operation? In Sarah Smith's holiday film Arthur Christmas, it's a mile-long ultra-high-tech sleigh that uses the finest in military-level advancements to accomplish gift delivery with the kind of flawless execution usually reserved for taking out terrorist leaders. All this dehumanizing machinery takes its toll on the Claus family, though, and when a little girl's present is left behind, only Santa's awkward and caring son Arthur is willing to make the effort to make sure her Christmas isn't ruined. The movie is an amazing animated eye-candy masterpiece that shows us just how easy it is to get caught up in the frictions of family during the holidays and forget why they're worth putting up with in the first place.
