The Allen Brothers probably didnt envision todays Bayou Bash when they landed on the shores of Buffalo Bayou in the 1830s. The afternoon party includes live music, pontoon boat rides, games and kayak demos, along with mountains of crawfish, lots to drink and the Anything That Floats competition. Organized by rdAGENTS, the event offers teams an opportunity to show off their creativity and DIY skills. Contestants will be given discarded building materials when they arrive at the Bash and will have a limited time to build a craft (and we use the word loosely) that will float down the bayou. Winners will be awarded prizes and bragging rights. 1 to 4 p.m. Sabine Promenade, 150 Sabine. For information, call 713-752-0314 or visit www.buffalobayou.org. $20 to $30.
