The Country Playhouse has a different take on the holiday comedy Best Christmas Pageant Ever they've moved it to the California coast, added palm trees and turned those little old church ladies into Housewives of Orange County wannabes. They've also reset it to 2010 and tweaked some of the dialogue to include references to Facebook and Twitter. Everything else stays the same: those horrible Herdman kids who punch, bite and bully their way through the day have wandered into the church just as the Christmas pageant is being cast. In true Herdman style, they take over the production and put their own twist on things. Before it's said and done, the rambunctious Herman kids remind everyone about the true meaning of Christmas between shoving matches, that is. 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. 12802 Queensbury.
