Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II
That rascally rabbit gets his musical due during the new Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II family concert. Conducted by show creator George Daugherty, Bugs Bunny II features the Houston Symphony performing the scores of several Looney Tunes cartoons live as the shorts screen on a giant monitor above the stage. On the schedule are, of course, classic Bugs Bunny cartoons such as The Rabbit of Seville, Baton Bunny and What's Opera, Doc? There are also appearances by Pepé Le Pew, the smelliest of all Casanovas, and Tom and Jerry, the forever feuding cat-and-mouse duo. Be sure to look out for two new 3D animated shorts that are sure to delight fans.
Pre-concert activities start at 7 p.m.; the music starts at 8:30 p.m. Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Dr. For information, call 281-363-3300 or visit houstonsymphony.org. Free to $15.
