Heres a Mardi Gras! Galveston event that not only allows kids, its made specifically for them: the Childrens Parade. Costumed kids and tweens will be on the floats and in the marching groups, tossing out junior-size beads and treats, while children and their parents line the parade route. Firefighters Local 571 hosts the parade, which kicks off at 2 p.m. The parade route starts at 27th Street and Seawall and travels to 47th Street. For information, visit www.mardigrasgalveston.com.
