Comedian Christopher Titus is popular for his own brand of harsh, self-deprecating comedy that centers on his family life and relatives, including his cruelly distant father and crazy mother ("crazy" isn't euphuism here, his mom was certifiable). This style of comedy led to his own television show Titus, which aired on the Fox Network for three seasons and received a nomination from the Writers Guild of America. After his show's run, Titus returned to standup comedy. With his new act "Love Is Evol," Titus once again draws upon his personal dysfunctions in his hard-hitting black humor. 8 p.m. The Improv, 7620 Katy Freeway. For information, call 713-333-8800 or visit www.improvhouston.com. $22.
