Classical Theatre Company: The Triumph of Love

French playwright Pierre de Marivaux hasn’t enjoyed the same long-term success his contemporaries Molière and Racine have, but that doesn’t stop Houston’s Classical Theatre Company from presenting his work. Today they’ll partner with Brazos Bookstore for a staged reading of one of Marivaux’s more popular works — The Triumph of Love. The romantic comedy has a prince and a princess in a whirlwind of secrets, love and disguise, and, like most of Marivaux’s work, it’s lighthearted. 7 p.m. 2421 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-963-9665 or visit www.classicaltheatre.org. Free. ($5 suggested donation.)
