Clive Cussler: The Wrecker and Spartan Gold
Hitler, train wrecks, rare bottles of wine, treasure maps, a hero, a terrorist and a descendent of Persian kings all figure in Clive Cussler's two newest novels, Spartan Gold and The Wrecker. With more than 40 books to his credit, Cussler is perhaps best known as the author of the Dirk Pitt¨ adventure series, but Spartan Gold, which Cussler wrote with Grant Blackwood, is the launch of a new series. A pair of modern-day treasure hunters are tracking down gold stolen from Delphi thousands of years ago. Unknown to them, a Middle Eastern millionaire who fancies himself the heir to the Persian kings is also after the gold, but he isn't shy about shedding some blood during his quest.
Cussler will also sign and discuss his other new title, The Wrecker, which he wrote with Justin Scott. In The Wrecker, it's 1907 and investigator Isaac Bell, hero of Cussler's The Chase, is after a phantom terrorist who's attacking the Southern Pacific Railroad. Sabotaging the line with fires, explosions and wrecks, the man known only as The Wrecker is leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in his wake - along with an increasing number of dead bodies. 6:30 p.m. Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet.
