Danseparcs Morrissey Tribute
What would November be without Danse-parcs Morrissey Tribute (and look-alike contest)? Morrissey has been regarded as the patron saint of melodramatic teenagers since he formed British indie pop group The Smiths 25 years ago. Through that bands celebrated tenure and his subsequent solo career, the author of Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me, Heaven Knows Im Miserable Now and Am I Hated for Loving garnered a reputation as the purveyor of all things mopey and brooding. We know Morrisseys music makes the perfect sound track for a rainy afternoon spent holed up in your bedroom writing in your diary, but it turns out a lot of it is pretty great to dance to, too. Numbers (which itself has been quite important to melodramatic teenagers over the last 25 years) will cele-brate the more groove-worthy moments in Morrisseys catalogue today at 9:30 p.m. Whether youre there to show off your pompadour or just dance to How Soon Is Now for the 100th time, your inner drama queen will not be disappointed. 300 Westheimer. For information, call 713-526-6551 or visit www.numbers-nightclub.com. $3 to $5.
