Dr. Pete: Feel the Power of the Dork Side
When the Curiosity descended onto the planet Mars, a crowd in Times Square watched it on the Jumbotron chanting, “SCI-ENCE! SCI-ENCE!” Even as we live in a world where people still try and put man and dinosaurs together, cohabiting, in the science books, you can see a new fervor for all that is nerdy and awesome being born. Dr. Pete Ludovice has a PhD from MIT and has worked with NASA, but what he’s bringing to Houston isn’t some kind of new engineering theorem. It’s an amazing meshing of comedy and science in a PowerPoint presentation he calls Feel the Power of the Dork Side. His approach is hilarious, for all ages and will have everyone from experts to laypersons in stitches. He perfectly walks the line between educational presentation and stand-up. You know you can trust a man who conducts actual research into the effects of improvisational comedy on engineering design.
