"Drawn from Taiwan"

The exhibit "Drawn from Taiwan," made up of line drawings by six artists who post photos of their work on Flickr, came about from one simple idea: Talented people usually surround themselves with other talented people. "One of the great things about Flickr is its inherent interconnectedness," says show curator Sebastian Forray via press materials. "As soon as you find someone great, you can immediately connect (through their friends and favorites) to everyone that surrounds them, both locally and globally. I came across Sick Lee's drawings about three years ago, and as I kept looking, kept finding more and more amazing drawings coming from the same place. Here are...my favorites, all drawn from Taiwan." The work includes several simple line drawings, such as an untitled piece by Yeh (known on Flickr as yeh5050) of a faceless figure seated on the branch of a tree, a beaker of sloshing liquid in each hand. Other artists contributing to the show include Son, Shih Li-Ren, Lin Yi-Hsuan and Lin Shou-Min. Noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, 11 to 7 p.m. Sundays. Through March 4. Domy Books, 1709 Westheimer. For information, call 713-523-3669 or visit www.domystore.com. Free.
