Dryope and Iole
Its hard to make the Great Depression funny, but playwright Nancy Kiefer manages to do to just that in Dryope and Iole. (Kiefer, theater fans will remember, wrote The Illustrated Woman.) Set in the poverty and desolation of the Depression, the play examines womens relationships during troubled times. With humor and a sense of hope, the women go through difficulties but emerge with their spirits and friendships intact. 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. January 25 and February 1.
