East End Christmas

If you haven’t been out to a holiday event at the Orange Show yet, you haven’t experienced one of the more, er, unorthodox fests in town. That’s not to say there’s not plenty of good will — it’s just that there’s hardly a holiday stereotype in sight. This year’s East End Christmas will be welcoming Pancho Claus (a.k.a. Richard Reyes), a zoot suit--wearing version of the jolly holiday staple for more than two decades. He’ll roll into the show with his lowrider posse — think a line of tricked-out, bouncing cars — and perform live music. Check out the art, have some authentic Mexican snacks and don’t forget to bring a new, unwrapped gift for the kids Pancho Claus will visit in the barrios on Christmas morning. 7 to 10 p. m. 2402 Munger. For information, call 713-926-6368 or visit www.orangeshow.org. Free.
Fri., Dec. 12, 7-10 p.m., 2008
