Festival of Originals
Theatre Southwest’s annual Festival of Originals, known affectionately as the FOO, attracts submissions from all over the country. This year’s selected playwrights come from New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas. There’s no unifying theme among the five chosen works; rather, they represent an eclectic mix of comedy and pathos. Instant Harmony, by Joe Starzyk, examines the sustainability of love sparked via online dating, while George J. Bryjak’s Sweet Jesus follows a homeless female Iraq war veteran. Carl L. Williams’s I Can Feel It Coming, George Rapier’s Downtime and David Vazdauskas’s On complete the lineup. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Through August 4. Theatre Southwest, 8944 Clarkcrest.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: July 20. Continues through Aug. 4, 2012
