First Friday Poetry Reading Series: Robin Davidson
During this edition of the First Friday Poetry Reading Series, Robin Davidson will be reading some of her new work, much of which deals with women's lives, isolation and the recent death of her father. She'll also be reading her translations of work by Polish poet Ewa Lipska. Davidson, who has an undergrad degree in French, spent a year in Poland learning the language and working with Lipska on a upcoming book, The New Century: Poems by Ewa Lipska. "None of her work has been published in the U.S. previously," Davidson says, "and I can't wait to see [it] in print." 8:30 p.m. Inprint Houston, 1520 West Main. For information, call 713-521-3519 or visit www.inprinthouston.org/first-fridays. Free.
