Five Funny French Films: Le Grand Amour
Cinema makes up an important part of the 2013 French Cultures Festival, including today's Le Grand Amour, part of the Five Funny French Films series. Pierre Étaix's 1969 comedy follows a newly married man (Étaix) who dreams of being a ladies' man. Delightful and immensely imaginative, Le Grand Amour is one of Étaix's many films that have been out of circulation for 20 years due to legal troubles. Recently rediscovered, Étaix is considered by many to be a comic genius. In French with English subtitles. 5:30 p.m. March 23. Other films screen March 21 to 24. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org. $10.
