Flight of the Butterflies 3D

You might think Flight of the Butterflies 3D is a nature film; actually, it's also a detective story. Dr. Fred Urquhart spent almost 30 years searching for the secrets to the Monarch butterflies' annual migration. Every fall some half billion butterflies take to the skies, making a three-thousand-mile trek from Canada through the United States and on to Mexico. Every spring, they make the return journey. In the mid-1970s, Urquhart discovered their remote overwintering sites, solving a perplexing mystery of the natural world. Flight of the Butterflies 3D includes lots of scenes of the insects traveling through Texas, landing on fields of bluebonnets and crossing the state's rivers. Various screenings daily. Through December 6.
