The beauty of the artwork seen in the new Canal Street Gallery exhibit Found, according to the gallerys director, Valentina Atkinson, is that while the pieces are created from similar materials bits of rubber tires, leftover Christmas decorations, scraps of paper the results are unique reflections of the individual artists. The same thing means something different to whoever picks it up. So even if we use the exact same things, we each create something that is our own. Eighteen artists are represented in Found, including Candice Goodwin, who contributes Silver Slick III, made of aluminum screen and wire.
