Fruits and Hicks
The next time you're in the grocery store struggling to find a fruit or vegetable that isn't bruised, overripe or doused with pesticides, take a page from the folks at 2915 Delafield and start a garden of your own. The nonprofit Bill Hicks Resurrection Collective grows organic produce in their community garden and uses it to feed Houston's homeless community. The group is expanding the garden, but funding is slim. At today's Bill Hicks Community Garden Benefit, meet fellow green thumbs and tune in to the sounds of Two Star Symphony, Chim Charoo and Helicopter Jones, all while supporting a good cause. Enjoy the homegrown talent at 8 p.m.
Sat., May 27, 8 p.m.
