He's the DJ, He's the DJ...
The classic Smiths album The Queen Is Dead is considered by many to be their best, an essential listen that embodies the mid-'80s Manchester rock scene. But no less than a year after its release, the band went through a rather bitter breakup, and lead singer Morrissey pursued a successful solo career, leaving his ex-bandmates to fend for themselves. Of late, bassist Andy Rourke has been working DJ gigs. Today at The Back Room, Rourke will help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album's release with an exclusive DJ set of his favorite tunes. Show up today and ask Rourke what he thinks of Morrissey's turning down $5 million to reunite with him and the Smiths.
