The Museum of Fine Arts, Houstons film division continues its centenary homage to director David Lean with the 1953 movie Hobsons Choice. Set in 1890s England, Choice is the story of a bootmaker (Charles Laughton in an excellent performance) who wants to pick out a suitable husband for his daughter. (Sure, thats going to happen.) Instead, the young woman marries her fathers shop assistant and the couple starts a boot shop of their own to rival his.
