Two of Hollywood's brightest stars will be honored at the Houston Film Critics Society Awards 2010: Sissy Spacek and George Clooney. Spacek will be given the society's Lifetime Achievement Award and Clooney gets the nod for the Humanitarian Award. While Spacek and Clooney might not be in attendance (as of press time there was no confirmation that either star would attend the ceremony), local film fiends, critics, curators and filmmakers will be. Awards will be handed out for the usual categories (film, director, actor, actress). There will be lots of clips and, yes, heartfelt acceptance speeches. The real fun starts after the ceremony when the crowd gets to schmooze and gossip, er, we mean, discuss highly serious, meaningful issues. 4 p.m. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet.
