At least in our book, there's almost no good reason to get up at the crack o' dawn and jog unless you're an Astros fan. Today, anyone who completes the fourth annual Astros Race for the Pennant 5K Run/Walk gets two free tix to an upcoming home game, plus a free T-shirt. The race, which also includes Junction Jack's Kids Fun Run, starts and ends at Minute Maid Park. Everyone's favorite giant rabbit, Junction Jack, and Astros announcer Milo Hamilton will be on hand to pump up the runners and hang with them at the postrace party. And there are prizes aplenty: The first overall male and female runners in the 5K receive two round-trip tickets on Continental Airlines. Don't push yourself too hard, though. By the end, you'll be running or walking, or crawling away with Astros tickets. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. 501 Crawford. For complete race information and preregistration, visit www.astros.com. All proceeds benefit Astros charities.
