Director Steven Spielberg's 1993 film Jurassic Park was based on the book by Michael Crichton about an amusement park filled with regenerated prehistoric dinosaurs that got a little too, uh, realistic. At one point, it was the highest-grossing film ever, worldwide. While the then-state-of-the-art CGI effects and dinosaur models seem a bit primitive by today's standards, that hungry, scaly, fang-bearing T. Rex seemed pretty frigging scary back in the day - and it's still worth a few giggles. 11:55 p.m. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 W. Gray. For information, call 713-866-8881 or visit www.landmarktheatres.com. $9.25.
