Author Khaled Hosseini, this month's guest for the Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series, knows a little something about having a best-selling book. His first release, The Kite Runner, spent more than 100 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. His second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, debuted at the number one spot and stayed there for 15 weeks (it eventually spent almost a year on the best-seller list). With some 38 million books already sold worldwide, Hosseini has released his third title, And the Mountains Echoed. Like Kite Runner and Splendid Suns, Mountains Echoed has received universal praise from critics and fans alike. Also like his previous works, Mountains Echoed is set in Hosseini's native Afghanistan. It's been called ''his most assured and emotionally gripping story yet'' by Michiko Kakutani in The New York Times. 7:30 p.m. Wortham Theater Center, 501 Texas.
