Low B

After he’s done turning the tables for M.I.A. today, DJ Low B will be showcasing his solo talents at Deco Lounge at the official after party. Low B rose to popularity in the Philadelphia club scene in the ‘90s before becoming half of the celebrated DJ duo Hollertronix with partner Diplo. (The New York Times named their album Never Scared one of the top releases of 2003.) Nowadays Low B (short for Low Budget) flies solo at gigs ranging from VIP star-spangled parties in Hollywood to shows with the Sri Lankan indie dance diva M.I.A. to everyone’s-welcome weekly nights at dive bars. Low B always aims to keep everyone on the dance floor, well, dancing, with his wide range of selections. Hear him spin a mix of rock, dance hall, Baltimore club, indie dance, disco, dirty south and everything in between with local DJs Ceeplus Bad Knives and Yogi G from KPFT’s Generasian Radio at 9 p.m. Deco Lounge, 510 West Gray. For information, call 713-659-4900 or visit www.generasianradio.com. $15; $10 with M.I.A. ticket stub.
Fri., Nov. 2, 9 p.m., 2007
