Dust off your dancing platform shoes. The 70s are back with Catherine Johnsons hugely successful Mamma Mia! The Broadway mega-hit, coming to Houston via Broadway Across America, weaves a story about a single mom with a wild past around the popular tunes created by ABBA, the pop icons from Sweden who made disco divine. The story takes place on a fictional Greek island, where Donna and her daughter Sophie are getting ready for the girls pending nuptials. Trouble is, young Sophie has no idea who will walk her down the aisle, as Donnas never told the girl who her father is. When Sophie finds her mothers old diary and invites the three men mentioned in it to her wedding as possible dads, Donnas life changes forever. Stir in tunes like Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All, and the feel-good story will bring the audience to its feet in waves of happy nostalgia.
