Manhattan Short Film Festival

Today is your only chance to see the Manhattan Short Film Festival in Houston. The festival consists of ten short movies with a variety of subjects selected from countries including Australia and Mexico. One of the animated entries, Daniel Nocke's 12 Years, is a look at a couple of talking dogs who sport surprisingly accurate human-like expressions. The screening is in Houston for just one day, but the festival is showing on six continents, with each audience member casting a vote for the best short. Winners will be announced in early October. 5 p.m. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org. $6 to $8.
Sun., Sept. 26, 5 p.m., 2010
