Get in the mood for September 16 with MegaFest 2008, a catch-all concert for Latin music fans of every persuasion. Like salsa? Theres Mr. Jennifer Lopez, uh, we mean Marc Anthony. With quite a few awards to his credit, Anthony won the Latin Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album and Best Tropical Album in the same year. Want some international pop? Theres Enrique Iglesias, a star equally at ease in English or Spanish. How about some Mexican love songs? Velvet-voiced Alejandro Fernandez (Vicentes son) is on board. Fernandez started off singing rancheras while wearing tight, tight mariachi outfits. These days the Latin Grammy Award winner leans more towards pop he even had a duet with Beyoncé in his 2007 release Viento a Favor. (Is it wrong of us to hope he kept the tight pants?)
Also on the bill are the Kumbia All Stars, Fanny Lu, Fonseca and DJ Flex. 3 p.m. Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands. For information, call 713-629-3700 or visit www.woodlandscenter.org. $35 to $125.
Sun., Sept. 7, 3 p.m., 2008
