MFAH's Mixed Media Designed by IKEA
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is keeping things cool at MFAH's Mixed Media Designed by IKEA, where attendees gather in the museum's Sculpture Garden for schmoozing amid the Reverend Butter's ice carvings, noshing on snow cones from the Kona Ice food truck, imbibing with the ice luge (an IKEA word if ever there was one) vodka delivery system and general chilling while lounging on sculpted ice furniture. ''IKEA's MFAH parties are always a lot of fun. Where else can a see-and-be-seener/wanna-shake-my-booty-er masquerade as an art enthusiast/philanthropist?'' explains comedian Dusti Rhodes, who emcees the evening with B-Boy Craig Long. Guitarist Jonathan Toubin and DJs Ceeplus Bad Knives, Omari Jamal and Damon Allen drive the music.
