Miracle 34th Street

A A

Think back, way, way back, to when you were an innocent child who believed in Santa Claus and sugar plum fairies. You walked around blissfully ignorant of the dark truth — Christmas is a ploy by retailers to grab our money. Well, if just for an hour or two, Miracle on 34th Street takes us back to that innocence. The story of a little girl who meets Kris Kringle, a department store Santa who insists he’s the real thing, Miracle is filled with hope, love and other holiday warm-and-fuzzy feelings. There are some bumps along the way (Santa gets sent to the loony bin by a grumpy store exec), but it all turns out well in the end — hey, it’s the holidays, of course there’s a happy ending. 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Country Playhouse, 12802 Queensbury. Through December 9. For tickets and information, call 713-467-4497 or visit www.country-play-house.org. $17 to $20.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 30. Continues through Dec. 9, 2007
