Yes, at FrenetiCore's MKUltra ,a vivid, unique theater experience, you'll get some actual drugs; no, that isn't the only reason you should go see it. "Some people have called and said, 'So what drugs are you handing out?'" Artistic Director Rebecca French says. "This is not a party it's a theatrical experience that will be really, really intense, and hopefully change the way you look at performance." (To be fair, the name does come from a covert CIA program in which unwitting subjects were dosed with acid.) The combination of modern dance, immersive video and fourth-wall-busting experimentation will take place in an intimate annex funded in part by unnamed sponsors from the "medical sector." French declines to go into detail about what will go down, exactly, other than to say that MKUltra is "one of our more abstract shows. It creates a world onstage...[dealing with] what happens to a group of people when they're trapped and experimented on." Whatever happens, it won't be dull. 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m. June 18 and 19. Through June 19. 5102 Navigation.
