More Broadway at the Box
More Broadway at the Box features the songs you remember and love — “Something’s Coming” and “Maria” from West Side Story, “Old Man River” from Showboat and a medley from Wicked, plus songs from Motown the Musical, Chicago and other contemporary and classic Broadway shows. A co-founder of The Music Box Theater, Brad Scarborough, says, “Selecting the best and most varied Broadway songs is always a challenge. We’ll probably continue to bring back this theme once a year. The show is completely different this year — last year was a variety-show format, while this year is a plotted script about an aging diva and her career.” In addition to Scarborough, Rebekah Dahl, Cay Taylor, Brad Wrobel and Kristina Sullivan perform with a powerhouse four-piece band, G Sharp and the MBT Three.
The seating is cabaret-style, with beer, wine and snacks available. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sunday matinees (February 16, March 2 and March 16). Through March 29. 2623 Colquitt. For information, call 713-522-7722 or contact themusicboxtheater.com. $27 to $37.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: Jan. 31. Continues through March 16, 2014
