It may seem hard to relate to a guy who was born 250 years ago (today, to be exact) in Austria. Especially if that guy is a preeminent musical genius who wrote his first full-length opera before most people learned how to ride a bike. But never mind that. The MozartNOW Festival celebrates all the ways the music of Mozart is alive and well today, even if he isn't. The festival kicks off tonight with Happy Birthday, Wolfgang!, featuring three world-premiere chamber-music tributes to Wolfie by contemporary American composers. 8 p.m. Wortham Theater Center, 500 Texas. Show continues with various concerts through February 17. For tickets, schedule and venue information, call 713-524-5050 or visit www.dacamera.com. $21 to $37.
