Its rare that teachers get to strut their stuff, as their students are usually in the spotlight, but when the instructors in question the faculty of the University of Houstons dance department are some of Houstons most prominent young choreographers, its a treat to get a peek behind the curtains. Tonight, theyll join Travesty Dance Group, the dancers of the UH Ensemble and AURA, the Moores School of Musics contemporary musical ensemble, to present Moving Pictures, an eclectic, collaborative program focused on modern music and movement.
Todays performance will feature Toni Leago Valles Chess, based on dreams and nightmares, and Suchu Dances Jennifer Woods A Simple Way to Go Faster, among other works by the likes of Karen Stokes and Rebecca Valls. 8 p.m. Moores School of Music, University of Houston, 4800 Calhoun.
