So you think you can paint? What if your canvas were merely a teeny, tiny human fingernail? Yeah, that's what we thought, punk. Popularized by Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter and nail connoisseur Florence "Flo-Jo" Joyner (RIP) in the '80s, the technically intense art of nail design is now more popular than ever. The "Frutezia's Fresh Style at Your Fingertips" exhibit of nail art, on display today at DiverseWorks, shows just how far these intricately painted designs have evolved, with virtual mosaics and portraits resting on fingertips. Check out the exhibit and, if you like what you see, return for the closing reception Thursday, August 10, where local nail techs will be on hand (literally) to stylize your fingertips while you sip complimentary beverages and listen to the musical stylings of DJ Sun. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Exhibit continues until its closing reception at 6 p.m. on Thursday. RSVP by email for reception.
