Nathan Green: Fill the Sky
Art Palace often favors installations, but the gallery is switching gears for the current show, Nathan Green: Fill the Sky, an exhibit of abstract paintings. Nathan Green sets up patterns of shape and color and then interrupts them with chaotic gestures. There are echoes of Mary Heilmanns colorful and drippy paintings, but Green injects crafted structure and textural elements into his constructions. Its a kind of architecture that keeps each composition in balance. In fact, architecturally speaking, the shows title Fill the Sky is apt. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. Through July 2. Art Palace, 3913 Main. For information, call 281-501-2964 or visit www.artpalacegallery.com. Free.
