National Theatre of London Live on the Big Screen: The Magistrate
Catch John Lithgow (3rd Rock from the Sun, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) in a broadcast of The Magistrate from the National Theatre of London. A Victorian farce, Magistrate follows the escapades of Agatha and her son Cis. When Agatha married the easy-going Posket, she took five years off her age. But she didn't stop there. She knocked five years off her son's age as well, meaning the 19 year old is masquerading as a 14 year old. The trouble is Cis has the habits of a young man, including smoking, drinking, gambling and womanizing. All normal for a 19 year old young man, and all shocking for a 14 year old boy. Cis's behavior is about to expose Agatha's lie and that's something she just can't allow.
