Next Fall

Geoffrey Nauffts’s play Next Fall focuses on two people in love, one deeply religious, the other a staunch atheist. That might seem a difficult enough situation, but there’s an added twist: both parties are men. The play chronicles their five-year relationship with unflinching honesty and candid humor. Luke is a Christian and believes in an afterlife. Adam is an atheist who trusts everything except the Bible. Despite their ideological differences, they manage to keep their relationship intact, even while Luke hides his true nature from his conservative-minded family. Neither is willing to compromise his own beliefs, but all bets are off when Luke is hospitalized and Adam must turn to Luke’s family for support. Staged at the Obsidian Art Space by Cele-bration Theatre Houston , the Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Next Fall is making its Houston premiere. 8 p.m. Fridays, Sat-urdays, and August 27, 3 p.m. Sundays. Through September 15. 3522 White Oak Drive.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 24. Continues through Sept. 15, 2012
