No Logo Brands, Globalization & Resistance, a 40-minute film by Canadian journalist/activist Naomi Klein, is actually a lot more entertaining than its dour title suggests. This weeks installment in the Houston Community College REEL Culture Film and Speaker Series, the film is based on Kleins book by the same title and examines branding by corporations such as Tommy Hilfiger, The Gap, Nike and others. Klein also explores the branding of George W. Bush by Karl Rove, noting what many have come to realize and heres the entertaining part that the qualities Rove branded to the Bush logo were just creative image manipulation. 1 p.m. The Eagle Room, Town & Country campus, 1060 West Sam Houston Parkway North.
