"Paper & Ink"
The first annual exhibit of the new arts organization Print Matters, "Paper & Ink," features the work of the group's five founding members - Vivian Hordes, Ann Johnson, Cathie Kayser, Ruth Shouval and Andis Applewhite. Print Matters promotes nontraditional printmaking, so it's no surprise that the show features lots of mixed-media works along with the expected prints. There's an opening reception with the artists 6 to 8 p.m. on October 10. After that, a participating artist will be in the gallery for informal Q&A with visitors from 3 to 4 p.m. on October 17, November 21, and December 17. Regular viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through January 23, 2010. The Museum of Printing History, 1324 West Clay. For information, call 713-522-4652 or visit www.printingmuseum.org. Free.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Jan. 23, 2009
