Pierre Étaix: French Comedy Master
After going years without being seen, works from one of France's most gifted filmmakers are back on the big screen at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's series Pierre Étaix: French Comedy Master giving fans a chance to revel in his comedy genius once again. A former circus clown and acrobat as well as a fan of silent film comedies, Étaix had a style that was marked by its lighthearted grace.
During this series, film shorts including Heureux Anniversaire (Happy Anniversary) and En pleine forme (Feeling Good) among others screen along with features Le soupirant (The Suitor), Yoyo, Tant qu'on a la santé (As Long As You're Healthy), Land of Milk and Honey (Pays de cocagne) and Le Grand Amour.
