REDCAT Film Festival: Fire and Ice: New Animation from Russia
The fantastical conflicts of Sea Battle and zipper-train riding buttons of Caution! The Doors are Opening! are among the on-screen delights to be seen during the REDCAT Film Festival: Fire and Ice: New Animations from Russia, a presentation of ten short, animated films. Other films on the line-up include the sweet, nostalgic Zina’s Walk, a fantasia on the desire to play in winter snow, and the beautiful Coast Warning, about a woman who sends letters to herself so she can interact with her postman. Fire and Ice highlights the latest and greatest techniques in -animation from Moscow’s renowned SHAR Studio and Animation School. When necessary, subtitles are provided. 1 p.m. Asia Society Texas, 1370 Southmore. The event is for those ages seven and up.
