When I was in college, we had a drinking game that got us all really loaded really quickly — we’d put on Scarface and take a slug of beer every time somebody said “fuck.” In the years since, director Brian De Palma’s 1983 epic about the rise and fall of Cuban drug lord Tony Montana (Al Pacino) has become a cultural touchstone — particularly among the hip-hop community — complete with catchphrases (“Say hello to my little friend!”). It’s also single-handedly kept the white-suit industry alive after the decline of disco. While Tony and his heavily hair-gelled Miami cohorts aren’t exactly the kind of immigrants the Statue of Liberty had in mind with that whole “Bring me your poor…” spiel, their swan dives into a mound of cocaine were a thing of beauty. 11:55 p.m. Friday and Saturday. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray. For information, call or visit $9.
Fri., April 3, 11:55 p.m.; Sat., April 4, 11:55 p.m., 2009
