Science Cafe — Science and Religion: Angels and Demons?
This installment of the Science Cafe discussion series has a very provocative topic, Science and Religion: Angels and Demons? Speaker Dr. Henry Strobel, PhD (hang on for this; he's got a l-o-n-g title), Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the Medical School, UT Health Science Center at Houston (whew!); and Dr. Jeffrey Jackson, PhD (slightly shorter title here, guys), Associate Professor of Philosophy and Interim Chair of the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Houston-Downtown, will discuss two age-old questions: How are we here? Why are we here? (Wouldn't it be a kick if the answer to both questions were the same?) The Science Cafe, presented by the Rice University-Texas Medical Center Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, hosts brainiac guests who discuss heady topics in a relaxed setting.
